Short Foreword
- The ratings for the books that I’ve read are fairly arbitrary, based either on my subjective opinion and biasses or on something as small as my own enjoyment while reading the book, and some could easily be rated a little higher or lower
- Most books are rated primarily on how proficiently explained its arguments and rationales are, while books that do not fit such a framework are rated based on how substantial and profound the content included is (and of course how engaging it is to read)
- Clarity of the book’s principal elements and subjects is very decisive in my ratings, and since I’m still learning, I can’t rate something higher if its content is difficult to comprehend (though I of course still try my best)
- I’m a communist/Marxist (more specifically Marxist-Leninist if you care about labels) and will inevitably rate with my inherent biasses
Final Notes
- I rarely have time to read since I’m always occupied with schoolwork (hence the long gap between the start and end of 2023), and I’m a slow reader in general
- I’m reading the original Chinese edition of Quotations from Chairman Mao Zedong to practice my mother tongue so I’ll likely never read it finish lol
- Currently looking for more works related to Mao’s China (Chinese Civil War, Cultural Revolution, Great Leap Forward etc.), Vietnam, and the DPRK
- Don’t hesitate to ask for my reasons on any particular rating, or to ask about anything in general, I’m always open to discussion!
- Feel free to message me with more book recommendations!
